Ms. Mariano is a senior correctional health professional with expertise in clinical services. A registered nurse licensed in New Jersey, Barb spent more than 20 years at the Monmouth County (NJ) Correctional Institution, first as a Head Nurse and then as the Nursing Supervisor, where she was responsible for the delivery of health services as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support compliance with standards. Barb has long been an advocate for quality health care within correctional facilities.
In addition to her work as a lead correctional health care consultant for NCCHC Resources, Barb is a lead surveyor for NCCHC’s accreditation program. She has served on the advisory committees to review and revise standards for opioid treatment programs in corrections and, separately, to revise prison health care standards. She currently serves on the surveyor advisory subcommittee.
